Comparison of Real and Imitation Diamonds
I don’t know about you, but I love diamonds. Large stones, small stones, colored stones – as long as they are diamonds, I just love them. I can’t even begin to tell you why. I just love the way they look. The way they sparkle, the way they shine, the way it looks like fire when the light hits them the right way. The only thing I don’t like about diamonds is the astronomical price of the stones nowadays. They keep getting more and more expensive, but nothing has changed about diamonds except their price. They keep getting more and more expensive, and I want to keep buying the diamonds that I so love, but I can’t afford them anymore. This made me start wondering if the fake diamonds are as good as the real stones that I so desire. I was going to find out once and for all.
I started my search at local jewelry stores that specialized in fake stones and imitation diamonds. To my surprise, the new crop of fake stones didn’t look as cheap and fake as the fake jewelry that used to be sold at retail locations like this one. I took some of my real jewelry with me so I would be able to compare them, and to the naked eye, they are almost identical. The only differences I did recognize while I was at the stores were the settings used on the imitation jewelry. They were different than the settings used with real stones. I inquired if they could make real settings with the imitation stones and they didn’t at the location I was at, but they said that you probably can.
I started searching for more information on the internet because I wanted to know what a good price would be for a stone and what types of settings I could mount them in. To my surprise, there are tons of vendors on the internet selling imitation stones. My main concern was that they were diamonds. I wanted something that looked real, felt real and could truly cut glass. The more information I found, the more cautious I was of stones that would become discolored or that were too colorless and without any flaws at all. I wanted to have similar attributes to a real stone as well as similar cut.
With the features that I wanted, I started looking for boutique shops that sold stones that would be cut to the specifications that I needed. I found the type of shop that I wanted on the internet. They specialized in making fake jewelry that looked identical to the real thing. The stones weren’t flawless and the color wasn’t perfect either. More like a real stone. I was very surprised. Not only that, they even cut their fake stones in the same manner and size of a real stone. The likeness to a real stone was extraordinary. And the price was unbelievable. For a fraction of the cost of a real stone, I had a ring and earrings shipped directly to me for my comparison and inspection.
After I received my imitation diamonds earrings, I immediately compared it to my real jewelry. They were nearly identical. Not only did the imitation jewelry look real, it felt real as well. I took it to a local jeweler and asked what he thought. When he immediately thought they were real without using a loop to inspect it – I was completely satisfied.
Not only are diamonds still my best friend, I have found a way to be able to afford new jewelry that looks identical to the real thing.
